1971 First rock collecting in Germany.
1972, First visit to Idar Oberstein / Germany.
1980 First thunderegg digging in Black Forest, Germany.
1989 First digging Féjus/ France lithophyses.
1995 First digging in Nowy Kosciol / Poland.
2007 Ed Pieters found in Oregon agatized limb casts and a chalcedony pinecone.
2010 He discovered his 1st new own site in the Ochoco Mountains (Oregon USA), named after him: Eddy Bed.
2011 Discovering of his 2nd new thunderegg location in Oregon and gave it the name Dutch Donny
2013 The 3rd discovered new thunderegg location with the name WM13 and, together with Jason Hinkle,
involved by the discovery of Wild Iris thundereggs.
In the Book Agates III (Johann Zenz 2011) Ed is listed under “Agate Personalities in the World”.
He also publishes his experiences in the German mineralogical magazine MineralienWelt ( Bode Verlag GMBH, 31020 Salzhemmendorf, Germany)
